The Self-sufficient Christian.
HopefulMe
We are Christians because we know we are weak and we need a saviour.
A self-sufficient Christian is one who believes and depends fully on Christ. This Christian, does not panic over life. He believes Jesus Christ is in control all the time.
Even when life is difficult, even when there's nothing to hope on he still says "The Lord shall supply all my needs according to his riches in glory through Christ".
Even when the whole world is against him, he still says "Nothing shall separate me from the love of God through Christ Jesus"
Even when there is no money, no food, no home, no good clothes, no friends, no family, nobody to run to, no health, no business, no admission, no joy, no peace of mind, he still looks up and says "I am more than conquerors through Jesus that loves me".
The word of God in Philippians 4 vs 13 (Amp) it says we are self-sufficient in Christ's-sufficiency. It
also says we are ready and equal to any task that comes our way and we can do "all" things through Christ that infuses inner strength in us.
I don't know what is going through your mind as you are reading this but I'll like to tell you that you are self-sufficient in Christ's-sufficiency. You are no longer living in the economy of your country you are now living in the economy of Christ.
You know, when we give our lives to Christ, several things happen. Christ now takes up the responsibility of taking care of us, comforting us and being with us. On the other hand we are obliged to clinging to him at all times.
Now, looking up to Jesus the author and the finisher of our faith. Who because of you and i endured the cross and now is seated at the right hand of God.
We are self-sufficient in Christ. In him we live, move and have our being. He is our hope, he is our life. He has promised to be with us in the midst of life struggles, even in the good and bad times he is still with us.
A self-sufficient Christian would never give her body in exchange for money. Neither would she lose Christ in other to gain the things of the world.
Temptations and trials shall come but those that trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion which can never be moved but abideth forever.
And the bible says "For as many that has received him, to them he gave power to become the sons of God".
Christ has given us the grace to be steadfast in him. We can do all things through him who strengthens us. Our present suffering is nothing to be compared with the future glory ahead. For we are troubled on every side yet not distressed, we are perplexed but not in despair. We are also persecuted but not abandoned and are cast down but not destroyed. We are Self-sufficient because we are Christ sufficient.
Nothing moves us. We are strong. We don't let our mountains move our faith rather we let our faith in Christ move our mountains.
My self-esteem is directed towards who I am in Christ. All I want, all I need is in Christ. Nobody can steal my joy for the joy of the Lord is my strength.
For the fact I am alive and i still have Jesus, I have hope. I can actualize my dreams, I can pay my fees, I can pass my exams, I can recover from my sickness, I can provide for my family, I can have a good marriage, I can be a blessing to my generation and most importantly I can make heaven at last...
I am a self sufficient Christian.
Thank you Jesus!!!
