*be My Valentine*
In the Roman Empire, married men were not allowed to join the Roman army, it was only single men that were allowed to joined the Roman army.
Around the year 268 AD, a Roman emperor named Claudius II imposed a ban on marriages because too many young men choose to dodge joining the army by getting married.
A Christian priest named *Valentinus* was caught performing secret marriages and sentenced to death. While awaiting execution, he was visited by young lovers with notes about how much better love is than war.
In 469 AD, Pope Gelasius declared February 14th a holy day in honor of Valentinus.
14th February became known as Valentines day or a day of love.
*What Kind of Love?*
Long before Valentinus was executed, 14th February was celebrated by the pagan to honor Aphrodite who was a goddess of Fertility. She was also known as *the mother of Eros* – the god of Love. *Eros* is a sexual feeling of love that exist between man and woman.
As part of the celebrations to honor Aphrodite the goddess of fertility, women would submit their names into a big box and men would each draw one out and the two would be a couple for the duration of the festival celebration and at times for the entire following year.
The pagan festival gained much root and spread like wild fire throughout Rome and the nearby countries.
Temples were built for Aphrodite (the goddess of fertility, the mother of Eros) where thousands of women and men volunteered their bodies for the service of anyone who needed sex in the temple. ( Sacred Prostitution)
*Because of this the City of Corinth where the temple was built became jam-packed and wealthy.*
Many from far and near will often travel to Corinth to seek the services of the Sacred Prostitutes and so the proverb says: “The voyage to Corinth isn’t for just any man.”
Using the execution of Saint Valentinus on the 14th February as a cover up, the pagan festival started creeping across many countries and into many religions.
*It's initial purpose hasn't changed, Valentines day is and will forever remain a day of sex in honor of Aphrodite the Roman goddess of fertility.*
Many young men and women buy condoms months or weeks before 14th February because near that day there are always shortages of condom in many countries.
*No matter how nice we Christianize it's celebrations, valentines day will continue to be a day when men and women loose their control over sex.* A day the devil use to promote immoral sexual acts.
Many virginity will be broken.
Many cheating and unfaithfulness acts will be committed.
Many sex tapes and nude pictures will go viral.
Unwanted pregnancies.
Many broken hearts and broken homes after 14th February.
It is so sad that millions of young men and women will volunteer to *Sacred Prostitutes* for Aphrodite on 14th February.
Do you not know that *your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit,* who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 1 Corinthians 6:19.
*Love is not Sex and Sex is not Love.*
Let's be vigilant, for the Kingdom of God is at hand.
