Transformation
Category: MotivationLabel: Just Call Me Bubu
We constantly evaluate and reevaluate where we are in our lives, wasting many hours wondering if different choices might have led to better outcomes. This retrospection acts as a warning that we have failed, somehow to live up to our dreams and ambitions.
The good news is that transformation is only a conscious wish away. It is possible at any moment, no matter how bad the circumstances, to make considered choices that bring about tangible, real change for the better.
The opposite is stagnation and making decisions that keep us stuck or worse, set us back. Growth is vital to a thriving soul-as breathing is to a healthy body. But whereas the latter takes place automatically, the former requires active, conscious participation in the process.
In SOUTH AFRICA, the word "TRANSFORMATION" is synonymous with a peaceful political transition from apartheid to a new democracy where previously most people were more preoccupied with political issues, They now have the luxury of individual reflection and ambition. This is not unlike the rest of the world, where there is an awakened universal need to find our true purpose in life.
Through my multiple transformation in life, the biggest and hardest lesson I've learnt is that I can only really be myself. I sometimes wish there were a set of vows an individual could take to match those made in marriage. If we can promise another undying love, and make a public promise to be true, we should ideally start that commitment with ourselves.
That's what I regard as TRANSFORMATION
Understanding that the core of my being is a valued and important part of who I am, and that only I can change any aspect of my life that contributes to my happiness.
